Blue Mountians Bach

BLACKHEATH, A U S T R A L I A

Nestled at the edge of the bush in the Blue Mountains, this small contemporary home belongs to two avid rock climbers from New Zealand, a pair deeply connected to nature and intent on treading lightly within it. Their vision for an all-electric, passive, and environmentally sustainable home guided every decision, from construction to the pared-back footprint and interior fit out of just 81 m².

Engaged to curate the interior furniture and styling, my approach was to respond to both the architecture and the surrounding landscape — selecting pieces that reflect the simplicity of form, honesty of materials, and quiet resilience of the environment beyond.
